Prsymatic (I Am)
SoLjAh SiN
I am a ray of light reflected thru raindrops;
Splicing me into seven colors across the sky.
If you look into my eyes, a rainbow can be seen.
I am a member of the only race.
I am a human being.
I am every color Crayola could create.
Red blood navigates its way thru my blue veins.
The tone of everyone’s bones is the same, white.
Although, the melanin in my skin is unlike
The shade or hue that you might see in the mirror.
If you clear away preconceived popular notions,
That over many years have become potent means
Of separating mankind further than the oceans ever could,
By concentrating on physical disparities
Instead of emotional similarities,
It’s developed into an unfortunate reality that
We’ve all been broken into categories;
Segregated into minor and majorities by mass society.
I choose not to check the box that has been allotted to me
And get caught up in the practices of the bureaucratic.
I’ll make my own line and write in “I Am Prysmatic!”
Because I see from the present to thousands of years in the past
When our ancestors traveled over vast planes and seas,
Expanding the phratry to incorporate ALL of humanity,
And it’s truly a tragedy that the global family
Is now divided by more than simple locality.
Yet, poetic ideas and prophetic ideals are being put into application,
By some, and it’s reaching across nations to bring back unbiased bonds
Of community that will continue infinitely as we teach our children
To see beyond that which can be perceived visually.
Eventually, through obliteration of dogmatic classifications
We can exist peacefully in a world of prysmatic relations…
…And I wait for that day with undying anticipation
